Terms of Use

The agreement between you and 2 Minds, as plain as we could make it.

The agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Mofe Ejegi (“we”, “us”), the developer of 2 Minds. By downloading or using 2 Minds you accept them. If you don’t, please don’t use the app. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

What 2 Minds is

2 Minds puts real philosophical problems in front of you, one at a time. You take a side, and the other mind argues back. The puzzles dramatise existing philosophical problems and cite their sources.

2 Minds is for reflection and enjoyment. Nothing in it is professional advice of any kind, and the temperament it shows describes the answers you gave in the app, nothing more.

Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old to use 2 Minds. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you, including before any purchase.

Your account

You don’t need an account to use 2 Minds. If you make one by signing in with Apple or Google, keep that Apple or Google account secure: anyone who can sign in to it can use your 2 Minds account. You can delete your account at any time.

2 Minds Premium

What it includes

The daily challenge is free. 2 Minds Premium opens the whole library of challenges, including new ones as they are published. The library will change over time.

Billing

Premium is a yearly subscription sold through the App Store, Google Play or the Galaxy Store and charged to your account with that store. The price, in your currency, is shown in the app before you buy.

Free trial

If a free trial is offered, its length is shown before you subscribe. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts when it ends and your store account is charged.

Automatic renewal

The subscription renews automatically each year at the price then in effect unless you cancel. On the App Store, cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; renewal is charged within the 24 hours before it ends. On Google Play and the Galaxy Store, cancel any time before the renewal date. If the price changes, your store tells you beforehand, as its rules require.

Cancelling

Cancel with the store you subscribed through. You keep Premium until the end of the period you have paid for. Uninstalling the app or deleting your 2 Minds account does not cancel a subscription.

Refunds

Refunds are handled by the store you paid, under its own refund policy: see Apple’s and Google Play’s, or contact Samsung for the Galaxy Store.

Restoring Premium

Premium belongs to the store account you bought it with, not to your 2 Minds account. To use it on another device signed in to the same store account, tap Restore purchases in 2 Minds. A subscription bought on one store does not carry over to another.

Our content and your licence

2 Minds, including its puzzles, writing, artwork and design, and the 2 Minds name and logo, belongs to us or to those who license it to us. Works the puzzles cite belong to their authors and publishers, and the open-source software in the app is used under its own licences.

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use 2 Minds on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. Please don’t copy, republish or sell the puzzles; don’t try to extract the app’s source code or reach our services other than through the app, except where the law allows; don’t interfere with the app or the services it relies on; and don’t use it to break the law.

App store terms

Your use of 2 Minds is also subject to the terms of the store you got it from. If you downloaded 2 Minds from the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement governs your licence to use the app, and these terms add to it. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for 2 Minds or its content.

Changes to the app

We keep working on 2 Minds, so its features and content will change. We may suspend or stop offering the app. If we stop offering Premium, we will stop renewals and tell you in advance.

No guarantees

We work hard on 2 Minds, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that it will always be available, free of errors or suited to a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms affects rights you have as a consumer that the law does not allow to be excluded.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of 2 Minds, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid for 2 Minds Premium in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending

You can stop using 2 Minds and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. The parts of these terms that by their nature should last, such as ownership, the disclaimer and liability, continue after they end.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If you use 2 Minds as a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in its courts.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and for significant changes we will give notice in the app or on this site before they take effect. If you keep using 2 Minds after that, you accept the updated terms.
