Privacy Policy

2 Minds works without knowing who you are. This is what it does learn, where that goes, and how to take it back.

The short version

Who we are

2 Minds is an app for iPhone, iPad and Android, made by Mofe Ejegi (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the personal information this policy describes. For any question or request about it, write to support@2minds.app.

On your device

Everything you do in 2 Minds is saved on your device first: the puzzles you have answered, the side you took at each level, the temperament your answers lean toward, and your settings. Puzzles are stored there too once they have downloaded.

Without an account, none of your answers leave your device. Uninstalling the app deletes them.

Your temperament is worked out on your device by fixed rules. Your answers are never sent to an AI service.

If you sign in

An account is optional. It exists to carry your record to another device, and for nothing else.

You can sign in with Apple (on iPhone and iPad) or with Google. When you do, we receive the following from them and store it with Firebase Authentication, a Google service:

While you are signed in, a copy of your record is kept with your account in Cloud Firestore, also a Google service. For each puzzle you finish, it holds:

The copy is updated when the app starts, when you finish a puzzle and when you sign in. Signing out clears your record from that device; the copy stays with your account, ready for when you sign back in, until you delete the account.

Usage analytics

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to see how the app is used as a whole: for example, how many people open it, tap Get Started or view the Premium offer.

Google collects this against a random identifier created for each installation of the app, together with details such as your device model, operating system, app version, language and an approximate location worked out from your IP address. On iPhone and iPad it also uses the identifier for vendor (IDFV), an identifier Apple gives to apps from the same developer on a device. Google Analytics can also record purchases made through the App Store or Google Play, such as the product, its price and the currency.

Analytics is set up without advertising identifiers. The Android app switches advertising ID collection off, and the iPhone and iPad app uses the edition of Firebase Analytics built without advertising ID support. 2 Minds never asks to track you across other companies’ apps and websites.

We don’t send your name, email address or account to Google Analytics. Google keeps the detailed event data for up to 14 months; reports built from it, which count people rather than identify them, can be kept longer.

Purchases

2 Minds Premium is sold through the App Store, Google Play or the Galaxy Store. The store takes your payment under its own terms and privacy policy, and we never receive your card or bank details.

We use RevenueCat to confirm whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives the store’s record of your purchase (such as the product, dates, price and transaction identifiers), a random identifier it creates for your installation, basic technical details such as the platform, operating system version and app version, and, as any server does, your IP address.

Premium belongs to your store account, not to your 2 Minds account. We don’t tell RevenueCat who you are: it never receives your name, email address or 2 Minds account.

Content the app loads

Puzzles, the daily challenge and cover images are delivered from Google’s Firebase servers, which see your device’s IP address when they send them, as any server does.

A puzzle’s Sources page links to outside websites, such as PhilPapers and Project Gutenberg. When you open one, that site loads inside the app and its own privacy policy applies.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal information or share it for advertising. We share it only with the services that run 2 Minds, and when the law requires it.

Google (Firebase)
Sign-in, the copy of your record, app content and usage analytics. Privacy and security in Firebase
RevenueCat
Checking that a subscription is active. RevenueCat privacy policy
Apple, Google and Samsung
Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google, and the App Store, Google Play and the Galaxy Store, each under its own privacy policy, including Apple’s and Google’s.

These providers may process information in the United States and in other countries where they operate.

How long we keep it

Your choices and rights

You can use 2 Minds without giving us anything that identifies you, sign out at any time, and delete your account whenever you like.

Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, the UK, California or Nigeria), you may also have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to receive it in a portable form, and to object to or restrict how it is used. Email support@2minds.app and we will reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Where the law asks for a legal basis: we keep your account and record to provide the service you asked for, use purchase information to provide your subscription, and use analytics in our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the app.

Children

2 Minds is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has made an account, email us and we will delete it.

Security

Information travels between the app and these services over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we hold to the minimum this page describes.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. For significant changes, we will give notice in the app or on this site before they take effect.
